We are looking for a seasoned Portfolio Manager to join our Commercial Lending Team at Amegy Tower in Houston, TX.  This role will focus on managing and servicing loan portfolios, spreading and analyzing financial statements, and identifying industry risk. 

Essential Functions:

  • Responsible for managing and servicing a portfolio of loan relationships.  

  • Responsible for spreading and analyzing financial statements to assess the financial health of borrowers. Address industry risks, collateral requirements, loan structuring, and pricing to ensure sound lending practices.

  • Responsible for conducting thorough credit analysis, monitoring credit performance, and preparing detailed loan presentations. Evaluate the creditworthiness of borrowers and make informed recommendations.

  • Generate comprehensive reports on loan activities, including past dues, documentation and collateral exceptions, financial performance updates, and portfolio profitability. Ensure timely and accurate reporting to stakeholders. 

  • Assist Relationship Managers in maintaining and servicing existing client relationships, providing exceptional customer service and support to meet their financial needs.

  • Assists Relationship Managers with credit requests, providing financial analysis and recommendations to facilitate decision-making.

  • Responsible for expanding, building, and maintaining client relationships, providing the highest level of customer service.  

  • Cross sell other bank products.  

  • Performs other duties as required. 

Qualifications:

  • Requires a bachelor’s degree in General Business, Finance, Accounting, Commercial Banking or equivalent/relevant program and 5+ years’ directly related experience preferred. A combination of education and experience may meet qualifications.

  • Skilled in conducting thorough credit analysis, and monitoring credit performance.

  • Demonstrate strong commercial loan underwriting skills, with extensive experience in preparing and presenting credit memos. Ensure that credit memos are thorough, well-structured, and provide a clear rationale for lending decisions.

  • Capable of preparing detailed loan presentations and formulating insightful questions to discuss with relationship managers and clients, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of their financial needs and business operations.

  • Limited use and/or application of basic principles, theories, and concepts.  

  • Basic knowledge of credit analysis; spreading and analyzing financial statements; credit scoring; loan documentation.  

  • Experience with bank loan and deposit systems
