We are currently recruiting for a Practice Management Consultant to join our team on site in either our Salt Lake City, UT or Houston, TX location.
Position Summary
The Practice Management Consultant serves as a strategic partner to Market Leaders, Service Manager, Director of Financial Planning, and Director of Investment Management, working with financial advisors, planners, portfolio managers, and client support teams to drive team development, operational excellence, and continuous learning. This role blends training, client material curation, and product management to elevate team performance and enhance the client experience across the wealth management lifecycle. The Consultant is a thought leader, championing best practices and fostering a culture of innovation and growth.
Key Responsibilities
Training & Education
- Build, own, and run a formal onboarding and training program for all core business lines within Wealth (Advisor, Wealth Select, Planning, Portfolio Management), ensuring consistency, excellence, and adaptability to evolving industry standards.
- Partner with leadership to design and implement career development roadmaps, identify growth opportunities, and support advancement strategies across all job families within Wealth Management
- Design and deliver workshops, webinars, and group sessions on practice management topics, including time management, client experience, go to market strategy, branding based on client personas, platform support, internal partners, and operational excellence.
- Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) for all existing and new platforms, providing coaching, development, and driving adoption across the broader Wealth team
- Develop and curate training materials, playbooks, and client-facing resources tailored to advisor needs and firm initiatives.
- Foster collaboration and shared learning across teams, acting as a resource for ongoing professional development.
Client Material Curation
- Lead the creation, review, and continuous improvement of client-facing content and presentations, ensuring clarity, compliance, and impact.
- Leverage Salesforce to document and track client touchpoints, measure engagement success, and provide actionable insights to enhance client interactions
- Curate and maintain a library of best-in-class materials to support advisors in client meetings, events, and campaigns through Seismic.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to ensure materials reflect current trends, regulatory requirements, and firm standards.
Product Management for New/Existing Systems & Initiatives
- Conduct thorough reviews of existing platforms and proposed enhancements to assess functionality, efficiency, and alignment with business objectives.
- Provide well-reasoned recommendations for system changes or upgrades, ensuring decisions are informed by operational needs and client experience goals.
- Partner with stakeholders to develop and deliver training programs that promote understanding and adoption of new or updated systems, driving smooth transitions and maximizing utilization.
- Work closely with operations, compliance, and service teams to streamline workflows and ensure successful implementation of initiatives
Relationship Management
- Build strong relationships across advisor teams, support staff, and bank partners, fostering a collaborative and high-performing culture.
- Serve as a resource for advisors preparing for client meetings, events, and campaigns.
Licensed Banker Program Oversight
- Develop and deliver training programs to strengthen licensed banker skills and drive performance.
- Manage onboarding and inclusion processes for new licensed bankers, ensuring smooth integration into the program.
- Work with compliance to facilitate exam registration and licensing steps, maintaining accurate records and supporting timely completion.
- Monitor licensed banker production and performance metrics, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.
- Continuously enhance the program by incorporating feedback, best practices, and industry developments, and program compensation oversight.
Qualifications
- Requires a Bachelor's degree in business, Finance, or related field (Master’s degree preferred and 6+ years experience with practice management training, leadership development, onboarding, and customer/client service or other directly related experience. A combination of education and experience may meet requirements.
- Experience managing, coaching and driving team performance in a sales oriented, client facing environment preferred.
- Deep understanding of advisor business models, client service strategies, and industry best practices and advanced knowledge of wealth management practice, solutions, and products.
- Exceptional communication, coaching, and analytical skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deliver results in a dynamic environment.
- Proficiency in CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce), Microsoft Office Suite, Seismic, and data visualization tools.
- Familiarity with or expertise in leveraging AI tools to enhance efficiency, decision-making, and client engagement
- Ability to design and implement program onboarding and practice management plans that align with organizational goals.
- Skilled in supporting market leaders through execution of initiatives, delivery of services, and optimization of advisor workflows.
- Series 7, 66, or combination of 65/63 licenses preferred
