Zions Bancorporation is seeking an experienced technical Sr. Program Manager / Release Train Engineer (RTE). The ideal candidate will have prior experience in the financial services industry leading Payments & Treasury Management strategies and initiatives to join our team in Salt Lake City or Houston. The position will be responsible for facilitating planning and delivering of cross functional teams on enterprise aligned commitments and business value. Close collaboration with IT and business units will be required to develop solution roadmaps that outline specific outcomes.

The ideal candidate for this position is disciplined, highly organized, results-oriented and possessing the skills and experience necessary to:

 

  • Function as the point of contact, orchestrator and coach for the program, and facilitation of prioritized deliverables across all impacted areas.
  • Build and foster an environment to promote self-organizing, high performing teams through strong communication, team involvement, talent development, and effective communication and leadership.
  • Manage and optimize the flow of value through the Agile Release Train (ART) by working with the Portfolio and Program teams to facilitate identification of all work items, making work visible, and matching demand to capacity (limiting WIP).
  • Work with the ART Product Managers, Enterprise Architecture, Technical Leaders, Product Owners, and other key stakeholders to help ensure strategy and execution alignment.
  • Work with the ART to identify risks, impediments/bottlenecks, and dependencies. Lead the ART in creating plans to address these by providing visibility and escalation as needed and to ensure the teams can delivery on their commitments.
  • Establish & facilitate the ART Program Increments (PI) ceremonies/events on a recurring and predictable cadence (PI Planning, ART Sync, Inspect and Adapt).
  • Create or summarize the ART PI objectives and publish for visibility and transparency.
  • Track feature progress and assist in providing insights into the value delivered by the ART, as well as, radiating opportunities to optimize delivery.
  • Facilitate feature estimation and the roll-up to Epics to set delivery expectations with the portfolio.
  • Track and operate within the ART budget and ensure adherence to guardrails, policies, and standards.
  • Facilitate and coach the ART in implementing agile methods to improve the flow of value, seek relentless improvement, and solve for local and systemic problems impeding delivery. 
  • Ensure the ART has the necessary skillsets needed to deliver on the defined priorities.

Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of experience in program/project management processes, agile methods and tools (SAFe, Iterative, Scrum, Kanban), resource and change management practices, traditional / waterfall methods and techniques or other directly related experience.
  • Scrum Master Certification, Advanced Scrum Master Certification or Leadership Certification or demonstrated equivalent experience and skill.
  • SAFe Certifications a plus, and particularly Release Train Engineer (RTE)
  • Project Management Professional Certification (PMP) or demonstrated equivalent experience and skill.
  • Experience in the financial services industry; Consumer and/or Commercial Banking strongly desired.
  • Experience in program management of Payments or Treasury Management strongly desired.
  • Requires a Bachelor’s in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Systems or a related field.  
     

A combination of education and experience may meet requirements.

 

Ideally this position will be in Salt Lake City, Utah or Houston, Texas
