This position plays a key role in acquiring new clients, deepening existing relationships, and contributing to the development and delivery of Amegy’s merchant services products and solutions.  The ideal candidate demonstrates strong sales skills, excellent client service, and a solid technical understanding of merchant services. Success in this role requires effective collaboration with internal banking teams, strategic partners, and external stakeholders.

Essential Functions:

  • Generate merchant services referrals, new sales, and revenue growth across assigned markets.
  • Proactively develop new business through independent sales calls and joint calls with Treasury Sales Consultants and/or Relationship Managers.
  • Leverage all communication channels — in‑person, virtual, written, and verbal — to identify opportunities and build strong pipelines.
  • Create and deliver customized proposal presentations using marketing materials and strategic partner pricing tools.
  • Negotiate pricing structures to support retention, margin expansion, and overall revenue goals.
  • Provide exceptional onboarding and ongoing support to new and existing merchant services clients.
  • Manage the end‑to‑end lifecycle of merchant agreements, including setup documentation, pricing quotes, and coordination with strategic partners.
  • Facilitate updates or corrections to agreements, documentation, and pricing as needed.
  • Work directly with strategic partners to resolve complex product issues, troubleshoot problems, and ensure client satisfaction.
  • Maintain accurate weekly and monthly referral, pipeline, and activity reports.
  • Support Amegy’s relationship banking culture by maintaining regular client contact, delivering outstanding service, and demonstrating strong product expertise.
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams to strengthen cross‑sell opportunities and enhance the overall treasury management value proposition.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • A four-year undergraduate degree in business or finance along with direct Merchant Services experience is preferred.
  • Experience with Merchant services, treasury or cash management, product sales, relationship management, lending or other directly related experience is required. 4+ years' experience preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience may meet job qualifications.
  • Effective sales presentation and negotiation skills.
  • Strong sales aptitude with demonstrated professionalism, flexibility, and customer‑first mindset.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and follow‑through.
  • Knowledge of banking, merchant services, treasury management, banking/treasury products, and procedures is required.
  • Local candidates are highly preferred. Requires knowledge of local networks with expertise and pipelines in Houston and its surrounding communities.
  • A demonstrated ability to develop and maintain major banking relationships is strongly preferred.
